BRAINAL UNIT

Trip Folk Duo

[1971 ~ 1973]

Influences: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Syd Barrett,
Cat Stevens, and a pinch of Simon & Garfunkel

BRAINAL UNIT  was an alt folk duo with twin brother Benjamin Miller.  Both wrote original material singing and playing acoustic guitar.  Sadly there were very few recordings made. The pair played only a small handful of shows during their three years together. BRAINAL UNIT's only claim to fame is having gigged at The Canterbury House, Ann Arbor's folk club of the day.

relocated downtown later in a more organized fashion renamed as COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL (Commie High).

Laurence & Benjamin seen below, taken from an Ann Arbor News article in 1971, regarding the newly formed free school
called PIONEER II (or Earthworks).
At that time Laurence was majoring in 'tree climbing' and 'the effects of prayer on pot plants'.
